#7 - on decorating hantaran

Assalamualaikum =))

Looks like I have more readers here now, thank you for visiting my blog and thank you for those that followed my blog. If you wanted to exchange links, please don't hesitate to comment..i won't bite ;)

Right now I'm looking for ideas to decorate my engagement hantaran. Remember that i'm going for DIY? Yeah. The other day I was talking to my bf on how i should decorate the basket. Whether i should put the flower at the side of the basket, the handle of the basket, or at the bottom of the basket.. It drives him nuts!!hahaha.. he just couldn't believe that girls go through all the trouble on the details. I told him, well this is just a basket, wait till the day where we have to choose the interior for our home. Then he laugh like a psychopath..poor thing.hahaha. Relax la syg.. I just want to make the basket pretty for you.

I found this simple how to make a bow tutorial which i could use, or you guys might want to try it too. Or is there any other simple yet prettier tutorial for a bow??

Oh, one more thing.. I am desperately looking for an oval box to put his songkok in. Where can i find a cute songkok box? OR is there any place that we can custom-made a box to any shapes any sizes?? emergencyyy..

All these box are from overseas store.

#4 - Changes

Assalamualaikum =))

I just found out something about myself for the past few days. It's nothing big or anything, but it surprises me a bit. I'm attracted to the color pink. PINK! Soft pastel pink to be exact. Throughout my 24 years of life (ok now you guys know how old am i..hehee) pink was never in my dictionary! never! I like bright and fierce color like blood red, black, and grey. If you go through my childhood closet it all black, red and grey. Sounds like such a sad and rebellious child.huhu

As i grow into my 20's I started to like purple. My room is purple, my curtain is purple, my kurung is purple..everything in purple looks so beautiful. But not up to being a purple freak.hee

Now i'm starting to love pink. My initial ideas for the engagement was the color pink belacan.. what do we call pink belacan in english?? idunno... but pink belacan has a bit of a purple right? that's why i choose it. As i tried to find the perfect color for the lining and scarf, it brought me closer to the color soft pink. That's when I realize I love pink. I even try to make my hantaran for him pink! with a touch of purple.hehe. And i am soooooooo in love with this hantaran below. Might consider this color combination as THE hantaran for nikah.

I do believe that the changes in my interest in colors do resembles the changes in my characteristics and personalities. So does this me im getting more on the soft sides? heee.. *ferasann*

p/s: sayang, you're in for a pink lover..hehe

#2 - on engagement hantaran

Assalamualaikum =))

Today i want to talk about my hantaran preparation for the engagement. Me and him decided to the the hantaran together. So our hantaran will most probably looks almost the same, except for the color theme. I'm looking for something very-very simple for the decoration since it is only for engagement. We don't want to splurge too much on the deco right? Especially on an engagement since we still have THE BIG day to plan ahead. Plus, i'm on a budget.hehee

Simple does not mean it will look dull and cheap. It's only the matter of how you decorate it and the material you use to decorate. Less is always MORE. Trust me. =) You don't need a bunch of flower to make it look lovely. In fact, with just 3-4 petals of flowers and a ribbon, your hantaran will still look great!! Here's a few of a simple hantaran that caught my eyes. Even though it is simple, but it has the touch of exclusiveness to it.

See, what did i tell you.. it looks great right? If you are on a budget, better we go for something like this right? We can even make these type of hantaran ourself, the DIY way. hehee. In fact, I'll be DIY-ing my hantaran for him too. I think the total cost to buy all the material for the decoration is less than RM40 per hantaran. Here is a sneak peak of my Rm40 DIY hantaran. What do you guys think? =) So let say you have 7 hantaran, that means you would only have to spend less than RM300 for the decorations, and you get to keep all the stuff.

Question of the day: How much are you willing to spend on your hantaran deco (solemnization)?
